where have all the homeowners gone?

Where have all the homeowners gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the homeowners gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the homeowners gone?
Banks have foreclosed them every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the banks gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the banks gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the banks gone?
Congress bailed them out every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the congressmen gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the congressmen gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the congressmen gone?
Voters voted them out every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the voters gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the voters gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the voters gone?
Evicted by bankers every one
When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?

Good question. At least, I think it was a question...

I think it's because God, like any real good parent, uses the "school of hard knocks" approach. He says "don't do it" and we do it anyway...Then we know WHY He said "don't" in the first place. He only wants the best for us, but He also knows that sometimes we have to learn the hard way, even though it pains Him to see us fall.

What father rejoices when he sees his child touch the hot stove top that he was told to stay away from?

But do you think that the child will do it again? Maybe and maybe not. Most likely...not. Even though that isn't always the case.

Thanks for responding. :]

This is great. Fortunately, I knew the melody on which it is based, and thus I could hum along. I'll pass it on to others of my "generation."

Very funny. We're now writing songs about it? Pretty amazing.

The real point is, though, that sin deserves punishment. Sometimes you get punished right away, sometimes not.

Someone starts smoking when they're fourteen, and they die of cancer maybe thirty or forty years later. Someone else has premarital sex, and in less than a month they find out that there's a pregnancy or an STD.

God made the universe, so isn't it fair that He makes the rules, too? His way is the best way, and He gives us a choice. We can choose to do things His way or our way.

You can think it's unfair if you want to, but that won't change the way that things are.

hello

Thanks for your comments. Hadn't received any feedback on the site since I set that up as I kept is very private. Good to know that someone liked it.

And it is a nice poem in your blog..
